President and VP of Philanthropy, Martha Nielsen

Martha is from Omaha, NE and moved to the area about 15 years ago as a snowbird but now lives here full time. Pi Phi has been a part of her family for a long time as her grandmother, mother and sister were all Pi Phi’s. Martha was president of the Omaha Alumnae Club and has served in numerous leadership roles. Martha attended Kansas University and was initiated in 1983. In her free time she loves to knit, cook, read, travel and hangout with her husband, Jeff and her adorable miniature golden doodle, Bentley. She is new to our Alumnae Club and is looking forward to making new friendships.
President-Elect, Wendy Brooks

Wendy Brooks was initiated at the University of Georgia and graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After working a few years in the political arena, she started a career in the mortgage industry and currently works as a mortgage loan originator for Scout Mortgage. Additionally, she is a licensed real estate agent with Keller Williams Arizona. She has been a community leader and volunteer for her entire adult life and is well-versed in fundraising, relationship building, volunteer and project management, and community engagement. She has two adult sons and a small rescue dog that runs the household.

Sara was a Pi Phi at Arizona State University. One of her fondest memories was the day her mother Barbara (California Beta) pinned her during her 1987 initiation. Sara has served on executive boards and on AAC in San Francisco, New York City and Toronto. After living and raising their daughter in Houston, TX, Sara and her husband Greg recently relocated to Phoenix. She is excited to serve in a membership role and is looking forward to being a part of several SIG Groups! Sara is a fitness enthusiast, loves to cook, read, travel and spend time with their French bulldog, Maisie.

VP Communication, Julie Mowka

Julie is an Ohio Epsilon graduating from the University of Toledo in 1997 and moved to the Valley in 1998. Julie was Co-VP of Programs (along with Kim OBrien) for the 2004-2005 Phoenix Alumnae Club year and has been volunteering at the Waste Management Open nearly every Sunday since 2003. Julie’s career has been in the marketing research industry and she currently works as a Consumer Research & Insights Analyst for a national real estate company based in Scottsdale. In her free time, she enjoys hiking around the valley, running in 5ks, reading, and date nights with her husband.
VP Finance, Kyra Johnson

Kyra officially joined the Phoenix Alumnae club in 2019 and is ready for another exciting year full of all things Pi Phi! Initiated in 2013 as an Arizona Gamma, (Northern Arizona University) she has lent her skills to different areas within the organization. Holding collegiate roles of Webmaster, VP of Finance Elect, and Policy and Standards Board to alumnae roles including Fundraising Committee, SIG leader, and AAC. In her professional life, Kyra works as a corporate trainer for a logistics company based in Scottsdale. When not spending time with her sisters she likes to read, bake, and chase after her nephew.
